Care for Our Common Home:
An evening of interfaith dialogue on
Pope Francis' encyclical and address to our Congress...

Picture

“We are faced not with two separate crises, one environmental and the other social, but rather with one complex crisis which is both social and environmental. Strategies for a solution demand an integrated approach to combating poverty, restoring dignity to the excluded, and at the same time protecting nature.”

 Pope Francis, encyclical on ecology,
June 2015 Laudato Si',
On Care for Our Common Home

For many persons of faith, Pope Francis' encyclical on ecology is a watershed moment – a uniting call to action and conscience.
In an effort to create a meaningful starting point for dialogue, please join us for an evening of dialogue and sharing. on:

 Thursday, September 24th
at 7:00 p.m. at the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center

  • See the re-broadcast of Pope Francis' September 24th address to our Congress;
  • Hear area clergy and spiritual leaders reflect on the Pope's address and encyclical; and,
  • Share your own reflections on this address and issue.

“Many things have to change course, but it is we human beings above all who need to change. We lack an
awareness of our common origin, of our mutual belonging, and of a future to be shared with everyone...a
great cultural, spiritual and educational challenge stands before us, and it will demand that we set out on
the long path of renewal.” Pope Francis, encyclical

This event is free and open to the public.
