“The Transition concept is one of the big ideas of our time. Peak oil and climate change can so often leave one feeling depressed and dis-empowered. What I love about the Transition approach is that it is inspirational, harnessing hope instead of guilt, and optimism instead of fear. The Transition Handbook will come to be seen as one of the seminal books which emerged at the end of the Oil Age and which offered a gentle helping hand in the transition to a more local, more human and ultimately more nourishing future.” – Patrick Holden, director of the Soil Association

‘In Transition’ is the first detailed film about the Transition movement filmed by those that know it best, those who are making it happen on the ground. The Transition movement is about communities around the world responding to peak oil and climate change with creativity, imagination and humor, and setting about rebuilding their local economies and communities. It is positive, solutions-focused, viral and fun.

Host a Re-Skilling Workshop!
As cheap fossil fuels have permeated our everyday lives, many of us have started to take basic life skills for granted. If we want to build a more resilient local community, we've got to become more self-reliant as individuals. Many young people (and many not-so-young people) don't know how to do some of the basic things previous generations know all too well. This is a time for us to learn from our elders and those around us who have made the effort to lessen their reliance on fossil fuels and foreign markets.
If you've got a skill, share it! Consider hosting a workshop on anything you can do well, such as baking bread, sewing, gardening, carpentry, soap making, knitting, making biodiesel, home brewing, cooking, basket weaving, crocheting, knitting, or canning... The possibilities are endless!
