Green Team Network of Early Adopters of Sustainability

                            Picture
What is it?  The Green Team Network of Early Adopters of Sustainability* was launched in March, 2007, to create synergy between organizations and businesses in the Chequamegon Bay who are committed to developing sustainable action plans that save money and reduce their contributions to global warming.  With grant funding currently provided by the Otto Bremer Foundation, the network:

                            1. encourages each business to create its own "green team",
                            2. provides free technical and leadership training for benchmarking measurements,
                            3. brings people together to share successes and challenges.
This network provides time, space, and training to solve problems.

                            Who has joined the Network?
As of April, 2008, 18 organizations in the Chequamegon Bay including municipalities, restaurants, retail businesses, industry, educational institutions, tribal entities, mass transit, health care and government agencies have joined the network.

Why be a part of the Green Team Network?  Grant funding for this Network provides technical and leadership training to businesses that recruit 2-5 people to represent their agencies.  Local businesses are already working to conserve and reduce their energy sustainability teams to move initiatives forward.
This network is designed to help businesses become for sustainable.

                            When do people meet?
Meetings are scheduled during and outside of work time.  Technical advisors visit on site to businesses as part of the meeting schedules.  Each Green Team member commits time to learning theory, sharing best practices, and addressing challenges together.  Network members receive support from Focus on Energy to help them begin or review recommendations from energy audits.
This network has developed a schedule of meetings.

                            * The Green Team Network of Early Adopters of Sustainability was made possible with a 3 year grant awarded by the Otto Bremer Foundation to the Alliance for Sustainability.
