Where can I recycle CFL bulbs?

Energy efficient light bulbs can save about 75% of the energy used in a regular incandescent bulb, and they can last about ten times longer, saving even more money in the long run.  However, CFLs do contain trace amounts of mercury (about 20% of the mercury in a wrist watch battery) and should be disposed of properly. In the Chequamegon Bay area, there are a number of convenient places you can recycle spent CFLs for FREE!
The Alliance for Sustainability is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. P.O. Box 143, Cornucopia, WI 54827
