This summit is an extension of the Alliance for Sustainability’s Pie and Politics event on July 23rd at 6:00 pm the Big Top Chatauqua in Bayfield featuring own local sustainability champions whose stories of energy, entrepreneurship, food, waste, water and public art hold the spark that will set this community on fire.
The purpose of this summit is simple -- to build momentum and take action on creating a strong, vibrant and thriving communities in the Chequamegon Bay region that builds on the unique gifts and assets already in our region AND fosters a shared vision of a sustainable future.
The summit will use an Open Space meeting process in which all participants are encouraged to convene sessions on topics he or she cares about. You are encouraged to bring two or three burning topics for discussion that could help our thriving communities take hold. Where there is agreement, we will organize and move forward. Where there is difference we will seek understanding, common ground, and when possible third alternatives that move beyond compromise to a whole new approach that combines the best of both sides. By the end of the summit we will identify major initiatives, champions groups and immediate next steps. .
