Sustainable Business Conference: April 24, 25, 26, 2008 PDF Print E-mail

The Alliance for Sustainability held the first ever Wisconsin Sustainable Business Conference on  April 24 - 25, 2008 at Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin. This historic event offered small business owners, managers, city administrators and interested citizens the opportunity to learn about sustainable business practices and hear practical examples of what can be done within a business.  Additionally, the conference addressed the growing eco-municipality movement and the new and changing roles communities can play in setting the stage for a healthier, more sustainable local economy. Conference attendees also had the  opportunity participate in a post conference event on April 26th designed to explore the current eco-municipality movement taking place in Wisconsin.

The Alliance recieved an enormously positive response from those attending the conference.  Participants found the keynote speakers to be of the highest caliber and their presentations very informative while the break-out sessions addressed a wide variety of sustainable business topics.  The conference was attended by people representing 44 communities in the State of Wisconsin.
